THE NAME: Perlegia is the name of the place where we produce this wine. It is a location (and a street name) in Polaggia, near Berbenno, where our best vineyards grow exposed to the sun all day.

WINE : Valtellina Superiore Docg 2019 Perlegia

VINEYARD: vineyards located in the Valtellina Superiore area at 300 - 400 meters above sea level on the slopes of the Rhaetian Alps, above Berbenno. They are vineyards exposed to the south, grown with the modified Guyot arch, in shallow sandy-silty soils with a loose texture. The grape yield is 80 quintals/hectare as required by the DOCG regulations.

VINIFICATION: the ripest and sugariest bunches, harvested from the beginning of October, are traditionally vinified "in red" with 12 days of maceration on the skins in the must; fermentation takes place at 28-30 °C

MATURATION: the wine remained 18 months in 50 hl Slavonian oak barrels and was refined for 4 months in the bottle before being released for sale.
